She has presented readings and workshops in the U.S, England and Scotland and often presents her poems with a unique form of devotional dance that is both sensual and ethereal, as a kind of embodied prayer, or with drum and singing.

For four years she toured with a Turkish Sufi music ensemble, playing frame drum and reciting mystical poetry, the fruit of which was the book Quarreling with God: Mystic Rebel Poems of the Dervishes of Turkey.
Her books include a book of illustrated poems, Divine Nostalgia, and Quarreling with God: Mystic Rebel Poems of the Dervishes of Turkey (translated with Latif Bolat). She is the editor of Little Grandmother's (Kiesha Crowther) new book Message for the Tribe of Many Colors (release date August 2011)

Drawn to mysticism and spirituality since she was a teenager, Jennifer has delved into Buddhism, Sufism, and other sacred non-dual wisdom traditions, and is particularly drawn to the poetry and aesthetic expressions of mystical experience.

DrumShe believes in the power of poetry (and music) as a force for awakening, healing, and connecting to one’s soul ⁄ divinity.
She feels called, especially now, to use her voice to help illuminate the passionate wisdom of the sacred feminine and the heart, toward the healing of individuals, the larger culture and the earth.

She has an MFA in Creative Writing, an MA in English, and has taught writing at several universities and colleges. She currently lives in the high desert city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is working on a forthcoming book about Beauty.
